Buy TOOGOO(R)P200 Quick Release Adaptador para zapata (Compatible con. NICEYRIG Quick Release Plate for Manfrotto 577 501 504 701 for Tripod for. The Manfrotto 501PL plate is practically a standard in the professional video sector, is used in a wide variety of tripod models for video.
Things that worked for me: 1. I have a sling strap (Blackrapid RS7) and it works perfectly with the M-plate. Also liked that it moved the connection point forward towards the lens so it balances the camera and body. It was perfect on my D7000/MD-D11 grip and 17-55 f/2.8 lens. 2. Solid construction and look. This thing looks awesome on the camera (without grip) and is very solid. Also it securely connects to the bottom of the camera and does not move. 3. It really is fast to go from camera hand held to tripod! I no longer have to remove the sling strap from the bottom of the camera to use a tripod. I think this is one of the main advantage of the the M-plate. Same if you have Arca Swiss plate. The M-plate secures locked in on my RC2 plate (496RC2) and fit is perfect! Things that didn't work for me, so had to return. 1. It does not work very well for me when i added the grip. On portrait orientation, it was nice that the strap connection is not at the bottom of the cam anymore but managing my fingers over and around the M-plate was uncomfortable. No matter how I change and find a comfortable hold, somehow it hurts my fingers. Also connected to grip, the strap connection now protrudes kind of weird, as you could now see a bigger gap between bottom of camera/grip to lens. 2. Since i have a 70-200 VR2 lens on a sling strap. I have to unscrew, and screw back from the connection of the M-plate to the lens collar. This was my main issue, as it is a hassle to keep doing it changing between lenses. This is not M-plate fault though but it was not working for my needs. 3. Price. It's a little bit on the pricier side as you can get other options out there ie Carryspeed or Peak design for a much lower price and those come with straps already. I ended up returning it as the 75 dollar price was kind of hard to swallow to just keep it and not use it. To resolve, I got a Manfrotto 323RC adapter which i connected to the blackrapid strap using ConnectR, and put 2 quick connect plates, one on the camera body and one on the lens collar. Now i can connect my strap to either body or lens when required and easily remove the strap with the quick connect plate and now have my camera free to connect to my tripod. Done! quick and easy. My solution specially to those who have a sling strap (ie Blackrapid) and also want convenient and fast connection from camera hand held to tripod and move connection from camera body to lens collar of bigger lenses.
